On our midnight walk on a quiet Atlantic Beach road, Dot and I came upon a couple of dogs: one crazy 40 lb. puppy nervously jerking on his leash and barking up a storm, and the other dog twice the size of the smaller one came lumbering out to us on the road, without a leash, without a sound, and without a worry, allowing us to pet him.
The experience reminded me that when we see unfamiliar people or situations, we could worry and make a lot of noise fussing about our problems like the puppy, or we could be the Big Dog and confidently approach the unfamiliar without having to prove the point. To unleash our greatness, wouldn’t it be better to be fearless like the Big Dog?
